About the Mary Beth:

The Mary Beth Hotel and Gallery is a brand-new 18-room boutique hotel in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Conceived by Robert “X” Fogarty and Beau Baudier, The Mary Beth Hotel is an ode to deliberate design and architectural preservation.

This space is named in the memory of Robert’s mother, Mary Beth Schmidt Fogarty, who took her own life in 2001 after a long battle with cancer and depression. Mary Beth was a prolific artist, and left behind nearly 1000 of her paintings, which reside with her children and many of her friends.

The Mary Beth Hotel is not just a place to stay; it’s a haven for art and creativity. The Mary Beth is also the permanent home to Son of a Ghost, a mixed media collaboration between Robert and Mary Beth.

The first gallery season, curated by Maya Pen, showcases the works of over 30 talented artists, reflecting the essence of Mary Beth’s work and philosophy: she possessed a compulsion for creation and believed in the power of art as a force of connection. The Mary Beth

In its inaugural year, The Mary Beth Hotel seeks to define itself as an arts-driven sanctuary for its guests and creators. In the coming years, we anticipate the space evolving into a dynamic hub for artistic expression with events tailored to the artwork, a hosted buyer’s program, and working directly with the local and global arts community to continue to build New Orleans into a competitive and unique art city.

$25 – $40 / hour depending on experience and portfolio of relevant work experience.

Anticipated hours per month:*

Highly variable by month. As a general rule, it will never be less than 10 hours per month and some months there might be up to 70-80 hours of work.

Content Creation and Stakeholder Protection:

Develop and execute creative content strategies to promote our brand and engage our audience.

Produce high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content for digital platforms, including social media, website, blog, email newsletters, and more.

Create compelling graphics, videos, and other multimedia assets to accompany written content.

Maintain sales and inventory as well as the protection of the art.

Reframe, print and rehang sold exclusive prints.

Artist Relations:

Ensure artists get paid on time and reliably when their pieces are sold.

Field and develop inquiries to increase sales and opportunities for the Mary Beth artists.

Identify and establish relationships with artists, creators, and influencers whose work aligns with our brand values and target audience.

Act as the main point of contact for artists, providing support and guidance throughout the collaboration process.

Coordinate content creation projects with artists, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables meet quality standards.

Negotiate contracts and agreements with artists, managing budgets and expenses effectively.

Community Engagement:

Engage with our community of artists, creators, and fans through social media, forums, and other channels.

Facilitate collaborations and partnerships between artists and other stakeholders within our community.

Monitor trends and conversations within the creative community to identify opportunities for collaboration and content creation.

Performance Analysis:

Track and analyze the performance of content initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.

Utilize analytics tools to measure the impact of artist collaborations on brand awareness, engagement, and other key metrics.

Prepare regular reports on content performance and artist relations activities for management review.[e].

Requirements / Preferences:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Fine Arts, or related field.

Proven experience in content creation, preferably in a digital marketing or creative agency environment.

Strong writing skills with the ability to create engaging and concise content for various platforms.

Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
and video editing software.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with artists and creators.

Experience managing projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to achieve objectives.

Knowledge of social media platforms and trends, with a keen eye for identifying emerging talent.

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.

Passion for art, music, and culture, with a genuine interest in supporting and promoting creative talent.
